Are You Unhappy With Your Skin? Help is on the way!

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial uses high energy light waves to eliminate or reduce facial wrinkles, rosacea, moderate acne scars, and fine lines. For the right candidate, skin texture will be improved, discolorations are eliminated, and pore size will be reduced. Also, there will be production of new collagen.
No Downtime With Photofacial Treatments
A significant advantage of Photofacial over laser resurfacing is that there is no downtime and much less risk of complications. Improvements are seen with each treatment; usually, 5 treatments are recommended spaced 3 weeks apart, for optimal results.
Protective eyewear is worn to guard against the bright light flashes. A cool gel is applied to the areas to be treated, it lubricates the handpiece and cools the epidermis. The procedure can take a few minutes up to an hour, depending on the size of the treated area. The pulses cause very little pain and have been compared to a rubber band snap.
Protect Your Skin From the Sun
Dr. Miguel Delgado, M.D. emphasizes to his patients that after treatment, it is important to wear sunblock and avoid direct sunlight for several days.
For deeper penetration with lasers, some treatment options available are:
- SmartSkin+ delivers laser energy to the skin with adjustable power settings depending on the depth needed for the individual patient.
- Palomar Icon Combines lasers and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). Lasers use monochromatic coherent laser light, and IPL uses direct pulses of non-coherent light.
