What is the Palomar Icon Laser?

The Palomar Icon Laser works via two methods: 1) lasers and 2) Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).

Intense Pulsed Light differs from lasers in that it works by using direct pulses of non-coherent light while the lasers use monochromatic coherent laser light.

Intense Pulsed Light is used to treat many different skin conditions concerning patients such as age spots, redness, rosacea and damages blood vessels. MaxG – Used for clearing vascular and pigmented lesions as well as photo facial rejuvenation.
1540 Fractional Laser – A non-ablative laser used for skin resurfacing as well as for treating acne, surgical scars, and stretch marks.
MaxYs – Used for deeper pigmented lesions as well as removal of difficult to treat, fine, and light hair.
2940 Fractional Laser – An ablative laser used for treating wrinkles and skin texture irregularities as well as deeper skin resurfacing.
MaxR – Used for hair removal for all hair and skin types, on larger areas such as the chest, back, and legs.
1064+ Laser – Used for clearing various kinds of leg veins and can also be used to remove hair on darker skinned individuals.
MaxRs – This is a smaller version of the previous one, for all skin and hair types, but used on small areas such as underarms, face, and bikini line.
