Being the most popular kind of cosmetic procedure in the United States today, BOTOX® Cosmetic is an FDA-approved, simple yet effective method to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Moreover, it’s a very cost-effective way of regaining your youth while not having to worry about major health risks or complex surgeries.

HOW DOES BOTOX® COSMETIC WORK?

Let’s take a concise look at how Botox in Marin County does its magic. The most important quality of BOTOX® Cosmetic, something which differentiates it from other forms of facial rejuvenation techniques such as dermal fillers, is that BOTOX® Cosmetic is a neurotoxin. The primary function of BOTOX® Cosmetic is to reduce the interaction between specific muscles and nerves. This, in turn, will smooth the skin to reduce lines that form when muscles try to contract and may help lines that are present when muscles are at rest. This effect is temporary and will generally remain for about three to four months.

WHAT CAN BOTOX® COSMETIC TREAT?

Botox injections in San Francisco can be used in various regions of the face, neck and body. Here are some areas where BOTOX® Cosmetic is most commonly injected:

  • Horizontal expressive lines in the forehead
  • Vertical lines known as the “glabella lines” or “frown lines” between the eyebrows
  • “Crow’s feet” around the eyes
  • Tail of the eyebrows: for brow lift
  • Sides of the nose: for “bunny lines”
  • Flaring nostrils
  • Gummy smile: to reduce the amount of the gumline exposed when smiling
  • Lifting the lips upward if they curve downwards
  • Dimpled chin
  • Neck: for the platysmal muscles of the neck
  • Masseter muscle: to reduce the squareness of the lower face/jawline

YOUR BOTOX®COSMETIC TREATMENT:

As mentioned earlier, a major benefit of Botox in Sonoma County is that it is safe, affordable, and quick. Additionally, unlike various other surgical procedures, BOTOX® Cosmetic is a great minimally invasive non-surgical method that does not require major downtime after the procedure. Typically, patients will experience minor bruising which will resolve on its own.

It is something that can easily be performed during a lunch break without having to take off days from work. All of these are among the few great reasons why people get BOTOX® injections. The treatment, which is very quick and simple, takes about 5-10 minutes to complete. The final result of BOTOX® Cosmetic takes effect in about ten to fourteen days.

Even though BOTOX® Cosmetic clearly has many uses and benefits, the ideal candidates are those individuals who wish to get rid of “dynamic wrinkles.” These are wrinkles and lines which are formed as a result of facial expressions (i.e. smiling, frowning, and squinting). Nevertheless, you will need to have a consultation in our office regarding your specific needs and goals.

Since its creation, San Francisco has been a center for innovation and novel engineering. In 1896, the Sutro Baths were opened on the west side of San Francisco and were the world’s largest indoor swimming establishment. The pools used saltwater from the San Francisco Bay’s tides (except for one freshwater pool) and included slides, swinging rings, and springboards. The facilities also offered amenities like a museum, amphitheater, club rooms, and ice-skating rinks. In 1966, the facility was destroyed by fire and is now in ruins – a popular spot for tourist viewing. The former Sutro Baths are located six miles from the practice of Dr. Miguel Delgado in the Sutro Historic District. They’re also located 27 miles from Dr. Delgado’s offices in Novato, Marin County.
